About Us
Established in 1990, Treading the Boards (TTB for short!) is Aberdeen University’s musical theatre society. We are Aberdeen’s only student-run amateur musical company for students of Aberdeen University, Robert Gordon University, and North East Scotland College.
BUT, you do not have to be a student to join TTB! We are proud to have a lovely mix of students and non-students in our company.
We, typically, rehearse twice a week on Thursday and Sunday evenings, leading up to a big show in a theatre around February.
Past shows include: 9 to 5, All Shook Up, Our House, Sweet Charity, The Producers, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and many more!

Cry-Baby the Musical
13th - 16th February 2019
On the 24th of August, we announced our 2019 show: Cry-Baby
Cry-Baby is a musical based on the 1990 John Waters film of the same name. The musical focuses on Baltimore teenager Allison Vernon-Williams, who is drawn across the tracks from her 1954 finishing-school background into a relationship with the orphaned Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker, the leader of a pack of rebel outcasts.
